Entrepreneurship Masterclass brings young people together with entrepreneurs and aims to inspire students through presentations, activities, and discussion around the theme of entrepreneurship. The Masterclass guides students in gaining an appreciation of the personal qualities of an entrepreneur as well as the practical requirements to be practicing as one.
Content and delivery:
The Entrepreneurship Masterclass is a one/half-day seminar that challenges students to think about starting their own business as a career, and becoming an entrepreneur, through enabling today's entrepreneurs to inspire those of tomorrow. This is achieved by introducing the students to real entrepreneurs who share their vision, experiences and achievements.
The Masterclasses aim to help students to identify the key entrepreneurial attitudes and skills required in starting their own business. In addition they help students to understand the main issues and practicalities of starting their own business - for example: who to approach concerning financial matters, who to approach for help and advice.
The programme includes fun and interactive workshop sessions to help students think about and rehearse responses to the themes, ideas and obstacles associated with entrepreneurship. In addition there are presentation elements to the day from local Entrepreneurs, during which students have the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice.
The Entrepreneurship Masterclass also includes presentations from organisations that assist Business start-up, and information is provided on how to go forward if students want to look at setting up their own business in the future.
Through participating in an Entrepreneurship Masterclass students gain:
- an understanding from experts of what is involved in setting up their own business
- knowledge of the technical process of setting up a business from the experience of others who have become today's entrepreneurs
- an understanding of the need of related experiences before becoming tomorrow's entrepreneurs
- inspiration, enthusiasm and vision.
